Uganda has received another batch of Covid-19 Sinovac vaccines from People’s Republic of China government. Doses totalling 600,000 arrived in the country today Monday morning.
This new consignment from China brings the total of Chinese vaccine donations to Uganda to 1,600,000 doses and will boast the country’s vaccination campaign as the world races to vaccinate people as concerns intensify about the spread of new variant – Omicrom.
While addressing African leaders during FOCAC summit in Senegal late November, president Xi Jinping promised China would offer another one billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines to African countries and would encourage Chinese companies to invest no less than $10bn in Africa across the next three years.
